So what's to look forward for SY 2009-2010?

Every school year, La Salettians have come to look forward for something new in La Salette School.  For this forthcoming opening of classes on June 15, the following are just some of the exciting things to expect:
  • Expansion of the Special Education (SPED) Rooms to accommodate more students and to introduce new programs for the year.
  • Relocation of the new canteen in Quad 2.  Students can now have snacks and lunch in a new environment.  The school has also contracted a new concessionaire.
  • Relocation of the Computer Room.
  • Purchase of new computers with LCD flat-screen monitors.
  • Tiling of the faculty lounge.
  • Installation of new computers and printer in the faculty lounge.
  • Tiling of the NKP Room.
  • Installation of new comfort room in the NKP Room.
  • Two teachers teaching in Nursery, Kinder & Prep classes.
  • Roofing of the pedestrian walkway from Quad 1 to Quad 2.
  • Re-painting of the classrooms & painting of new caricatures (special thanks to imported artist, Rod Lor)
  • Renovation of the library and additional classroom for the College Department.
And that's just for the Physical Facilities Development of La Salette School.  New programs and activities also await the students this coming school year.

NKP & SPED to hold mini musical play at CSI Mall-Lucao

Little Angels Day Poster The La Salette Nursery-Kinder-Prep (NKP) Department together with the Special Education Department will hold a mini musical play entitled LITTLE ANGELS DAY: A Magical Gathering of Nursery Rhymes & Disney Characters on March 1, 2009 at the CSI Mall-Lucao Big Atrium.  The event will feature all the pupils in the pre-school and the Special Education Department with the special participation of selected elementary pupils.

The Pre-schoolers will do a rendition of OLD KING COLE MUSCIAL, a gathering of nursery rhyme characters during the birthday of Old King Cole.  The audience will be treated with the appearance of familiar nursery rhyme characters as they give homage to the king.  The Special Education Department, on the other hand, will be rendering a two-song presentation of Disney's Little Mermaid.

La Salette's Little Angels' Day is an annual culminating activity of the Pre-school and Special Education Department.  It showcases the multiple intelligences of our La Salettian pupils, more specifically the Visual-Spatial, Verbal-Linguistic, Musical-Rhythmic, Bodily-Kinesthetic, and Interpersonal Intelligences.

What is more special about this year's presentation is the full participation of the Special Education Department.  These are pupils who are with disabilities who are given the chance to participate in normal school programs and activities.

The assessment team was headed by Br. Kenneth Martinez FSC, the Brother President of De La Salle Canlubang in Laguna.  With Br. Kenneth are the following: Dr. Herminia Torres, the current LASSO Superintendent and former Executive Vice President if De La Salle University-Dasmariñas; Mrs. Presentacion Gabriel, former Executive Vice President of De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde; and, Mrs. Agnes Alonsazana, a Supervisor from La Salle Green Hills.
